Some of Our Projects
The Hegewisch Business Association is involved with many projects within the Hegewisch community. Here are a few things the HBA is doing to help improve the neighborhood.
Hegewisch Fest
Each year the Hegewisch Community Center sponsors Hegewisch Fest, the neighborhood community's celebration of all things Hegewisch. Live music, local vendors, craft artisans and of course, fresh cooked food are all part of the fun at this lively community party.
|
Farmer's MarketThe Hegewisch Community Center also hosts a Farmer's Market each Saturday during the summer season. At the market, Hegewisch residents have the opportunity to buy farm fresh fruits and vegetables as well as many craft items. And since the market is open every once a week, local residents can enjoy a steady supply of fresh food all summer long.
|
Community Clean UpThe Hegewisch Community Center also sponsors neighborhood clean ups during the spring and autumn seasons. During the event, The HCC invites all the residents and businesses of Hegewisch to get together and plant flowers and tidy up the neighborhood.

Hegewisch Community Center
The Hegewisch Business Association (HBA) has become the Hegewisch Community Center and has moved to the former Saint Columba social center at 13323 S. Greenbay Avenue. The new community center is now being used for meetings, gatherings, events, sports and recreational activities, social activities, educational programs, farmers markets, and more. It is becoming a focal point for the business and cultural life of the Hegewisch neighborhood.
